Faculty and Staff Giving

No one is more invested in the University of Iowa than the dedicated people who work here. You understand the value of the work being done on this campus better than anyone. By giving yourself every day through your work, you make Iowa a remarkable institution. When you give back to the university financially, you demonstrate that our faculty and staff believe in the university's missions and the importance of higher education.

Ways to Give

Give a one-time gift or set up an ongoing or fixed pledge.

Complete a payroll deduction form to automatically deduct your gift from your paycheck one time or as a monthly ongoing or fixed pledge.

Give to a GOLDrush crowdfunding campaign, run online by Iowa faculty, staff, and students.

Complete an electronic funds transfer (EFT) form to automatically deduct your gift from your bank account as a monthly ongoing pledge.

You can give to any University of Iowa area(s) or program(s), including to the colleges and departments where you work.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

The University of Iowa Center for Advancement is a 501(c)(3) organization and the preferred channel for private contributions that benefit the University of Iowa. You will receive a receipt for tax purposes.

How do I learn more about including the University of Iowa in my retirement or estate plans?

You can find basic information about your options for planned giving on our website. If you have questions about including the university in your long-term plans, or would like to inform us about a bequest, please call 319-335-3305 and ask for Susan Hagan or another member of the planned giving team.

Why I Give

I support the Shelly Bridgewater Dreams Foundation. I grew up with Shelly who lost her life at 25—seven days after having her baby. The work her family began is so important for families that deal with preeclampsia and other disorders that affect pregnant women every single day. I will continue to do anything I can to help.

I also support Iowa women's basketball because it combines my two loves—basketball and the Iowa Hawkeyes! There is nothing else like it. The coaches are incredible people and the players are some of the coolest young women I have ever met. To support what they do is the easiest decision I ever made.

The Sport and Recreation Management program provides life-changing experiential learning opportunities to students, but those experiences often rely on student fees. My wife, Bridget, and I support the SRM program because we want to help eliminate student fees so every student has access to the full range of SRM program offerings without cost being a factor.

As a young alumnus and proud employee of the University of Iowa, I see the impact that philanthropy has on campus each day. I choose to support The Daily Iowan, UI Dance Marathon, and Hancher Auditorium because they have all positively affected my life as a student and graduate. I cut my teeth as a journalist at The Daily Iowan and it provided numerous opportunities for which I will be forever grateful. I've been involved with Dance Marathon since high school—and its impact and magnitude have stuck with me ever since. Having grown up in Iowa City, I give back to Hancher so new generations can experience and enjoy its world-class programming, just like me.

Do you need restaurant recommendations? Ask a Hawkeye.? From handmade Italian cuisine to beautifully plated scallops to mouthwatering hummus, Iowa City has something for everyone. Nearly 300 alumni and friends shared their favorite place to eat near campus, and a consensus was reached?Hawkeyes just can?t get enough of these Iowa City staples. Hamburg Inn ?If it still exists, best lunch burger ever!? ?Tony Harper ?It's been there forever, and I hope it will forever remain. Whether for lunch, dinner, or a meal before partying at the downtown IC bars or before going home for the night, this place has all the right foods. And they are all delish! Alumni Affinity Groups and Affiliated Alumni Networks

Iowa alumni with shared connections are invited to join an affinity group. Some of these organizations are an extension of student interests, like Alumni Band or Dance Marathon Alumni Group.
